Where to eat in Tarnów — the old town, Wałowa 2

Two minutes from the Rynek, on the pedestrian street

Tarnów’s old town is small and walkable, and almost everything worth eating sits within a few hundred metres of the main square. 4MusicArt is at ul. Wałowa 2 — the pedestrian street running off the Rynek — on the ground floor of a tenement house, with tables outside in warm weather. You do not need a car and you should not bring one: the whole centre is paid parking, and walking from the square takes about two minutes.

The kitchen is open from noon — that matters here

A fair number of places in Tarnów open in the late afternoon, which catches visitors out at lunchtime. Ours runs from 12:00 Tuesday to Sunday and from 13:00 on Monday, straight through until 21:00 (midnight on Friday and Saturday). There is no separate lunch menu and no set-price deal — you get the full card at 1pm and at 8pm. What kind of place this is

A restaurant with a stage, not a bar that reheats food. The card runs from Polish classics — sour rye soup, breaded pork chop — through pasta, burgers and a beef tenderloin steak, to desserts. At weekends there is live music in the same room: concerts, dance nights, karaoke on Fridays. If you are staying in the centre for an evening, you can eat and stay on rather than hunting for a second venue.

What time does the kitchen open?

From 12:00 Tuesday to Sunday and 13:00 on Monday. It closes at 21:00 on weekdays and Sunday, midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Do I need to book?

Usually not during the week. On Friday and Saturday evenings, when there is a concert or karaoke, call +48 537 544 744 or use the booking form on the site.

Where exactly is it?

ul. Wałowa 2, 33-100 Tarnów — the pedestrian street leading off the Rynek, ground floor, entrance from the street. Parking in the centre is paid; walking from the square is quicker.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes — there is a separate children’s card (broth 14 zł, pancakes 26 zł, mini burger 30 zł, chicken nuggets 26 zł). Lunchtime and early evening are the calm hours; late karaoke is more of an adult crowd.
